Born on October 5, 1999, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Hunter was a remarkable young man whose life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and joy. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community, but his memory will forever serve as an inspiration of how one person can make a difference.
Hunter was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Charles and Jazie Torjusen, his maternal grandfather Cooper Boyd, and his cousin Cameron Boyd. Despite the grief of losing loved ones, Hunter’s life was filled with love and meaningful connections. He is survived by his parents, Richard Torjusen and Debbie and Vincent Jackson, who cherish his memory immensely. His grandparents, Catherine Boyd and Lillie Jackson, played vital roles in his life, offering love and guidance throughout his journey. Hunter’s siblings—Carlye Brady (Bentley), Greyson Jackson, Jullian Jackson, Linda Jackson, and Anthony Jackson—remember him as their protector, confidant, and best friend.
Hunter’s extended family was equally dear to him. His aunts and uncles—Cathy Boyd, David Boyd (Tanya), Benny Boyd (Virginia), Mike Torjusen (Tahnya), Phil Torjusen (Georgette), Randy Torjusen, David Torjusen, and Hank Torjusen (Syrie)—were supportive pillars in his life. Hunter’s love extended to his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who all carry cherished memories of his infectious smile, caring nature, and genuine spirit.
Hunter graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in the fall of 2022. He dedicated himself to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, working diligently in the ICU at Springhill Medical Center. His compassion and dedication made a difference in the lives of countless patients. This year, Hunter returned to his passion for soccer by joining the Resurrection Catholic Soccer Team as an assistant coach, inspiring young athletes with his leadership and enthusiasm.
Beyond his professional life, Hunter was an adventurous soul who loved boating, spending time on the water, and exploring the outdoors. He was a talented Lego builder, often spending hours creating intricate sets that showcased his creativity and patience. Hunter was also an animal lover, caring deeply for his pets, and loved spending quality time with his family—especially his brother Greyson, who was his best friend and confidant.
Hunter’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and resilience. His infectious smile and caring nature left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His family feels immense gratitude for the time they shared with him and the memories they hold dear. Hunter’s friends and loved ones will forever remember him as a generous, fun-loving, and compassionate soul who truly made the world a better place.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Church on the Rock in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Rodger Bradley. Interment will take place at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point, Mississippi, with pallbearers including Grandlund Torjusen, Brantly Torjusen, Greyson Jackson, Jullian Jackson, Cason Gill, and Walker Matulich. Honorary pallbearers include John Trotter, Bentley Brady, Baylor Brady, and William Higdon.
Hunter’s life was a shining example of love and service. Though his absence leaves a deep sorrow, his spirit will forever inspire those who knew him. His legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
